As I track my healthy behaviors, I find the practice reinforces doing the healthy things and gives me positive feedback for those healthy choices. Looking at ways to make it fun to get those steps in has led me to finding new walking routes with another early morning walker. Last weekend a new route taking 90 minutes led us up and down 9 stories of elevation, over 5.25 miles and since we talked the whole way, increased our walk's cardio-pulmonary intensity by about 30 percent. We also enjoyed starting the day with an upbeat and positive person, doing an upbeat and positive thing in the fresh air.
